Ann Arbor Postpartum Doulas Founder Jodi Long

Jodi Long, Founder of our Doula Team

Owner, Nutritionist, Birth & Postpartum Doula & Herbalist

I certified as a birth doula in 1998 with the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators.

For over 20 years, I have worked to empower women to take their birthing experiences and their postpartum health into their own hands.

I am also a certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula with the world renowned organization, ProDoula. I became a doula before many knew what the word even meant!

See our blog posts for more info about me.

Asia Sikkila

Prenatal & Postpartum Body Work

I trained as a doula in 2004 with Elizabeth Davis, the author of Heart and Hands. In 2006 I lived in Senegal, West Africa and for 5 years hosted a Midwifery and Doula exchange program where Westerners came and worked with the local midwives in a birth clinic.

I have supported women in a wide spectrum of birth experiences, from rural home births to hospital births. I now use my expertise in massage and body work to help you nourish and take care of your body through the childbearing year. There is no better time to pamper yourself than during your postpartum recovery!

Calen Smith

Postpartum & Infant Care Doula

For years, I’ve had a passion for babies! Loving and caring for infants and families has always been a part of me.

During high-school, I became increasingly interested in midwifery and after much research, I knew becoming a doula was perfect for me! I have years of experience as a nanny and have used that experience to fuel my passion.

I am a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula with ProDoula and I am so excited to be able to help support you and your new baby as you make this exciting transition.

See our blog posts for more info about me.

Khadijah Bansfield

Birth & Postpartum Doula, Midwife-In-Training

I am an AMANI certified doula and childbirth educator, a birth assistant, and a student midwife.

I lived abroad for many years where I became a doula in 2012 and attended dozens of births and raised childbirth education awareness to hundreds of women.

I am very passionate about advocating for women’s rights, especially childbirth rights, and raising awareness about the importance of postpartum care.

One of my favorite sayings is ” It take a village to raise a child, but a community of love and support to raise a mother.”

Aireal Thomas

Birth & Postpartum Doula

I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula who found great passion in supporting families educationally,
emotionally, and physically. This passion of mines derived from my own traumatic experience with birth.
Instead of focusing on the event and wishing I could change it, I decided to pour that energy into
supporting other families with the best quality of care.
My goal is to educate families on their rights regarding birth and postpartum care, so that each family
feels supported and well equipped to make informed decisions with confidence. In addition to my Doula work, I also provide breastfeeding support, nutrition support, mental health support, and I make natural skincare and haircare products.
