Your Postpartum Meal Plan
It's 8:00am when I knock on your door and let myself in. I find you looking a bit disheveled after a long and stressful night and you are bouncing your crying baby on your knee in an effort to soothe him.
The look in my eye tells you it is ok to give me the baby and go take a shower and a nap. With sincere gratitude, you do it.
After a few minutes, your baby is settled and getting sleepy. I turn on the white noise machine and before long, he is resting peacefully in the bassinet while you slip into your bed upstairs.

I clean the kitchen from the night before and I think to myself, why didn’t I have someone like me when I had my babies…
I open your fridge to find a bag of grapes, a dozen eggs, some Chinese food containers, and several pieces of Tupperware filled with expired leftovers that are begging me to empty them, wash them and put them away.
So I do.
Each postpartum meal is designed for optimal nutrition and recovery.
The groceries arrive and I begin prepping all of the protein. I cook it and store it for easy reheating. I start a pot of soup, I build a casserole for the freezer, and then I start working on the evening’s meal and a batch of oatmeal pancakes for your breakfast with your toddler in the morning.
I am prepping for the entire week ahead. I’ve made it easy for you to have a grab and go snack, reheat some soup, pop a casserole in the oven to bake, and even have a warm nutritious breakfast.

It’s 1:00pm and you come downstairs ready to feed your baby and yourself. He and I are both ready for you. He drank the expressed milk you pumped for him while you rested, but he is anxious to get to the breast for this feed and I am excited for you to try my turkey & spinach wrap that I made for you!
Once you are both fed, I get the load of cloth diapers out of the dryer and organize them back in his changing station. It’s been a great morning shift and with a blissful look in your eye, you are excited for me to return for my next shift with you!
